Art and Sea

The sea, told with art

We use art as a bridge to the heart. Artists, illustrators and scientists portray the life of the Patagonian sea and invite us to look at it in a different way.

This illustration shows all the possible reproduction routes that a brown algae from the Laminariales family could carry out. The author uses Macrocystis pyrifera as a representative of this group of algae, very common in cold waters such as those of Patagonia. It is investigated whether Macrocystis pyrifera reproduces following all these strategies or only some, and if the environment influences this.
